NUDIPU under the Gender and Disability Inclusion in Practice Project (GADIP)that is implemented at national and district (Moroto and Kotido) level developed the Gender and Disability training manual to facilitate the Gender and Disability inclusive awareness trainings of key stakeholders. Some of the targeted stakeholders include; the Grade One Court Magistrate, Child and Family Protection Police Officers, Chief Administrative Officer, District Union members, cultural leaders and FIDA who underwent a disability and Gender Based Violence training in order to strengthen their knowledge, skills and experience on gender and disability mainstreaming and promote the rights of persons with disabilities.

NUDIPU in partnership with FIDA is aiding access to justice by coming up with legal response mechanisms to rescue persons with disabilities who are survivors of Gender Based Violence. Such mechanisms include; meeting court filing fees, securing a lawyer to represent GBV survivors with probono legal services in the courts of law, reintegrate survivors of Gender Based Violence in the community and family members and follow up visits of the survivors after integration.

NUDIPU also held a radio talk show on 88.7 Ateker FM radio station in Moroto district to provide information on Gender Based Violence pathways, available Gender Based Violence survivor shelters and services and engagement of stakeholders like cultural and religious leaders on how Gender Based Violence can be prevented.

This information was beneficial to the 1,362 direct and 12,000 indirect targeted project beneficiaries on the ground.
