Project Objective
- To contribute towards gender transformation and disability inclusion in Uganda by 2028.
Project Background
Launched in January 2024, the Gender and Disability Inclusion in Practice Project (GADIP II) is a five-year project being implemented in Kapchorwa and Nakapiripirit Districts from January 2024 to December 2028 with support from the Austrian Development Cooperation.
Designed to mainstream Gender and Disability across the four thematic areas of Gender and Disability mainstreaming in Government Programmes, Inclusive Education, Economic empowerment, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Services and Gender Based Violence Prevention, the project aims to contribute towards gender transformation and disability inclusion in Uganda by 2028.
Project outcomes
Outcome 1: Increased access to services and government programmes by persons with disabilities through gender and disability mainstreaming
Outcome 2: Increased accessibility of available SRH services, including improved GBV response and prevention for Persons with Disabilities
Outcome 3: Increased access, retention, and graduation of children with disabilities from primary and secondary schools
Outcome 4: Improved livelihoods of Women and men with Disabilities through formal and informal income-generating activities.
The due diligence is to determine the capacity of the Kayunga District Unions and Pallisa District Unions to implement the project as per their proposal. The objective of this intervention is to strengthen the capacities of the selected subgrantees for gender transformation and disability inclusion
