National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) is committed to
safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our Staff, Board of Directors,
volunteers Guides, Sign Language Interpreters, Helpers, and Interns, personal
drivers to staff, Development and Strategic partners, Donors, visitors including
media practitioners and persons associated with the Organization including
consultants and service providers.

NUDIPU Safeguarding policy defines “Safeguarding” as protection and
creation of a safe environment free from harm for children under the age of
eighteen and adults at risk.

This policy ensures that;
• Everyone associated with the organization is aware of and responds
appropriately to issues of abuse, harm and sexual exploitation of children
under the age of eighteen and adults at risk.
• Anyone who represents our organization behaves appropriately towards
children under the age of eighteen and adults at risk and never abuses
the position of trust that comes with being a member of the NUDIPU
family.
• There is an assessment and reduction of the risks to children under the
age of eighteen and adults at risk that are associated with NUDIPU
program activities.

NUDIPU respects the rights of all people and ensure implementation of the
“do no harm policy”.
