NUDIPU, with sup­port from Stan­dard Chartered Bank, has yet to kick­start a project in the Kalangala District to support youth with dis­abilities aged 18 to 35 in entrepreneurship and business skills.

The project, which started with an incep­tion meeting, was to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to understand the project and its deliverables.

Additionally, it allowed the participants to learn more about NU­DIPU and its interven­tions across the coun­try.

The district leaders pledged their full sup­port for the smooth implementation of this project and urged NU­DIPU to work closely with the district to fa­cilitate collaboration and coordination dur­ing the actual imple­mentation of the proj­ect.

As a pilot project, NU­DIPU is going to con­centrate only in three sub-counties that is, Kalangala Town Coun­cil, Bujumba, and Mu­goye sub-counties.

This is because of the limited resources ex­plaining why the fur­thest islands haven’t been brought on board, considering the costs of implementa­tion compared to the main island.
