NUDIPU & Ministry of Education and Sports have launched the National Teaching and Learning Pedagogy for Teacher Education Institutions in Uganda: Raising Achievement for all Learners.
According to Dr Sarah Bunoti for this programme to excel all learners must be present in school which should be a concern of the teacher as well to leave no one behind. The beauty of this program is that it emphasizes learner participation & also looks out for learners who are out of school.
Thanks to NUDIPU and the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Norwegian Association of the Disabled (NAD), Save the Children Uganda, Stromme Foundation, Kyambogo University, and Enabling Education Network among others for enabling this pedagogy to come to pass.
“Today we celebrate a significant milestone in coming up with this National Teaching & Learning Pedagogy for Teacher Education institutions in Uganda. We urge all the trainers and trainees to embrace the pedagogy and include it in the curriculum and support all learners,” Ninsiima Chris Director of Programmes.
“NAD is committed to working with different stakeholders in the education sector as far as inclusive learning is concerned. One of the programs they want to maintain for the next 5 years is raising achievement for all learners in Uganda,” Mr Edson Ngirabakunzi Country Director NAD.
Congratulations! How will the program be connected with teacher training institutions?
The modules will be used in teacher training institutions and thus why the Ministry of Education is championing this.
