Mark the dates for this exercise and stand to be counted for proper planning. The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda calls upon all persons with disabilities to participate in the upcoming national population counting exercise which will take place from 10th to 19th May 2024.

This is the only opportunity to have actual statistics of persons with disabilities country wide spearheaded by the government through the Uganda National Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). NUDIPU working with UBOS will guide the enumerators to count the persons with disabilities following the designated disability categories.

During the meeting held at Speke Resort Munyonyo last week in preparation for the exercise ahead about 700 Supervisors were met for the upcoming Census and Mr Ssennoga Martin, Program Manager at NUDIPU guided them on how to identify persons with disabilities during the census. 

A list of sign language interpreters across the country who can assist during the census was also handed over to UBOS to facilitate communication for the Deaf.
